Tibetan Incense · Pure Offering
🪷缘起
Incense heads the six offerings (flower, lamp, incense...); the Śūraṅgama Sūtra tells of the 'Incense Youth' awakening through scent. Tibetan incense (e.g. riwo sangchod) blends juniper, spikenard, saffron—for space-cleansing, offering, practice. The butter lamp means 'light to the Buddha, dispel ignorance.'
🔮寓意
Incense and lamp mean 'offering, cleansing, gathering the mind'—one stick, one flame, recall a pure thought. Offerings are aids, not transactions.
📿形制
Tibetan incense stick/powder, butter lamps (1/7/21/49/108 days), burner, globe, cup, damaru; natural herbs.
💬答疑
Q: How many days of lamp? A: Days show the length of vow (7, 49, 108); what matters is daily continuity, not numerology.
