Mañjuśrī, "Wonderful Auspiciousness" in Sanskrit, is the bodhisattva embodying the prajñā-wisdom of all buddhas. He appears as a youth, left hand raising the Prajñāpāramitā sūtra on a blue lotus, right hand wielding the vajra sword—the sword cuts ignorance, the sūtra reveals reality.
