Green Tara Blessing · Kagyu
🪷 Origin
The Tārā Root Tantra tells how Tārā arose from a tear of Avalokiteśvara's compassion, vowing to liberate beings in female form. Green Tārā leads the Twenty-One Tārās, her emerald color signifying vitality and fearlessness, able to pacify calamity and grant worldly and spiritual ease.
Kagyu masters of every generation have practiced Tārā, regarding her as a "swift-fulfilling" deity. Many practitioners recite her mantra daily and meet her protection in peril. Thus praying to Green Tārā for a distant loved one is to invite this "savioress" to hold a gentle umbrella over their life.
