Guardian Buddha · Mahāsthāmaprāpta (Horse)
🪷缘起
Mahāsthāmaprāpta, with Avalokiteśvara and Amitābha, forms the 'Western Three Saints' (Amitāyurdhyāna Sūtra). His wisdom light illuminates all, freeing them from the three lower realms; a treasure vase on his crown holds the merits of all Buddhas.
🔮寓意
In Chinese custom the Horse is guarded by Mahāsthāmaprāpta. The vase means fulfilled merit and wisdom; the light means dispelling darkness. Wearing it recalls a focused, upright mind.
📿形制
Crown with a vase, teaching mudrā, purple-gold body on lotus; also pendant, bead.
💬答疑
Q: Relation to Amitābha? A: Both belong to the Western Pure Land; Mahāsthāmaprāpta draws beings by wisdom light, Amitābha by compassion. Wear to remember 'gather the six senses, peaceful recollection.'
