Maitreya, the future Buddha, is taught in the Maitreya Sūtras. Chinese temples show him as the laughing 'Cloth-bag monk'—joy and包容 (inclusiveness).

🔮寓意

Maitreya means 'joy,宽容, meet all with a smile.' Wearing his image loosens the heart in hard times, easing friction with others.

Bare-belly laughing figure with beads or ingot; jade, wood, copper, resin.
