🪷缘起

Samantabhadra, 'Universal Worthy,' embodies the vows and practice, taught in the Avataṃsaka Sūtra's Chapter of Vows. He rides a six-tusked white elephant—steadiness of great conduct; the six tusks signify the six pāramitās. Mount Emei is his mountain.

🔮寓意

In Chinese custom the Dragon and Snake are guarded by Samantabhadra. The white elephant means firm, unhurried practice; the ten vows mean following through. Wearing it recalls perseverance over talk.

📿形制

Rides a six-tusked elephant, forms teaching or boon mudrā, golden body; also copper statue, card, bead.
